Ninpō Tai Jutsu 忍法體術
These are the techniques studied in the Togakure Ryū. Combined of both Gyokko Ryu Kosshijutsu and Koto Ryū Koppojutsu, the Togakure Ryū is broken into several areas of study.
Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu - Kamae 構
The Kamae of Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu are taken from Koto Ryu Koppojutsu. When training Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu, Unsui Sensei had us train the kamae of Koto Ryu within the waza of Togakure Ryu.

Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu - Hira Ichimonji no Kamae 平一文字之構
To gently wrap your opponent or letting the opponent’s force go by With the body facing forward, step both feet slightly beyond the shoulder width

Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu - Kaeshi Dori 返し鳥
As the opponent cuts, put your hands on the ground then spring up and kick to sui-getsu. The important point of this technique is to somersault backward and stand after finishing the kick.

Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu - Kaeshi Dori 返し鳥 (Henka)
This is a variation to Keashi Dori, where the opponent's foot is protected, and you cut into the exposed ankle and side of knee.

Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu - Ken Nagashi 拳流
As the opponent cuts, drop your hips and strike into sui-getsu, then strike your opponent’s feet and roll to a standing position. The important point here is to roll forward after attacking the feet.

Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu - Ichi no Kamae 一の構え
The kamae for this is like seigan no kamae from Koto Ryu, with the feeling of not letting the opponent approach.

Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu - Kata Ude Tonsō Gata 片腕遁走型
The uke will grip your right wrist with their right hand. You and uke assume hachimonji no kamae as the uke pulls you forward

The opponent holds your left wrist and tries to pull you in. As before, capture with take ori, then grab the opponent’s right arm with your right hand and throw with koshi nage

This is a variation of Hidari Ton So no Kata, with the difference being that your are taking your opponent down onto their stomach, versus using koshi nage.

KYOKETSU SHOGE
The most peculiar item of the Togakure Ryu was the Kyoketsu Shoge (距跋渉毛). Its name means to run about in the fields and mountains. Its uses are receiving attacks with the base of the sickle blade, cutting with the sickle portion, thrusting with the point, striking with the iron ring and wrapping and catching with the chain.

Togakure Ryu Kyoketsu Shoge - Sayu Omote / Ura Shi Ho Buri 左右表/裏四方振り
This is rotating the weapon with Shi Ho Buri, on both sides of the body, swinging the weapon both downward and upward. It's important to practice control of the weapon while in motion on both sides of the body.

Togakure Ryu Kyoketsu Shoge - Men Uchi 面打
This is striking to the opponent's head with the kan , the ring of the weapon. In the manner of the Koto Ryu moto gata, strike as in shuto ken to the opponent's temple and face while parrying their sword away from you using the kama.

This is receiving and parrying the opponent's weapon using both the kama and the kan. There are six different directions, three on each side.

Togakure Ryu Kyoketsu Shoge - Tatsu Maki 竜巻
As the opponent attempts to cut, move to the side and receive their sword with the top of the kama, rotate their sword down and around being sure to pull your lead leg back while making this circle to not get cut. When rotating the weapon, make sure you pass the sword above your rope.

This is kote doir. There is no official name for this technique, as there is no densho, however the technique is specific for catching the opponent's hands.

Togakure Ryu Kyoketsu Shoge - Ittō Dori 小手捕り
This technique is meant to teach you to catch the opponent's weapon. From omote shiho buri, at the correct moment leap to the side and attack the weapon closest to their lead hand.
